ST. CLAIR -- Melvin C. Lorf, 80, of St.
Clair died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002, in Port Huron Hospital after a
short illness.
He was born June 2, 1922, in Richmond to the late Frank and
Martha Lorf.
He married Betty J. Fournier on June 28, 1952 in Richmond.
Mr. Lorf was employed at St. Clair Rubber Co. prior to his
retirement. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church,
Richmond.
He enjoyed walking, the out-of-doors, fixing things and spending
time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; a son, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin
Douglas (Lucy) Lorf of Marysville; two grandchildren, Pati Lorf of
Boca Raton, Fla., and Traci Lorf of Marysville; three brothers, Ray
Lorf of Cass City, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon (Judy) Lorf of Lapeer, and
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey (Evelyn) Lorf of Yale; three sisters, Mr. and
Mrs. Paul (Marge) Gelushia of Doniphan, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Harvey
(Ruth) Bruder of Vassar and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene (Marion) Wolfe of
Port Huron; a sister-in-law, Martha Lorf of Yale; and several nieces
and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Melvin, and two
brothers, Russell and Frank Lorf.
Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. today in the Marysville Funeral
Home.
Mr. Lorf will lie in state in St. Peter's Lutheran Church,
Richmond, from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of service at 11 a.m.
The Rev. Gerhardt Doroh and the Rev. Randy Lett will officiate.
Burial will be in Richmond Cemetery, Richmond.
